On July
10, 2003, the
Nassau County & New York City Brehons sponsored a reception aboard the
“Jeanie Johnston”, a replica of the 19th Century Famine Ship that carried over 2,500 emigrants during its sixteen voyages
During its call to New York
Harbor as part of its hisoric journey to North America, the ship was docked
beside the Irish Famine Memorial at
Battery Park City.
